My work begins with questions that have sparked within me. Questions of beauty, light, place, environment, community, and social justice to name a few. I try to understand, bring clarity, or raise awareness through my art. Photography becomes the way I follow questions—an invitation to curiosity, reflection, and connection. One hope is that the images I make encourage viewers to see and think a little more deeply.

Over twenty‑five years of teaching Photography and Design at Langley Fine Arts School has shaped much of my creative life. During that time, I have coached and curated hundreds of student exhibitions, projected works, and large‑scale initiatives, including the Arts Matter lecture series, the LFAS Photographic Mosaic Mural, and This is Kwantlen. Co‑founding PA‑MOJA (formerly Project Kenya Sister Schools) added another dimension to this work, rooted in cross‑cultural exchange and collaboration. I am inspired by the work my students and colleagues create.

With a Master of Arts in Education from Simon Fraser University, Field Studies in Technology and Education, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Victoria, my foundation is broad and interdisciplinary. Training in Langara College’s Photography program further roots my practice in the creative arts. Yet some of the most meaningful learning continues to arise through teaching, creating, collaborating, and living.'

Service with the BC Arts Teachers Association and the Galiano Island Literary Festival Society fuels my interests in collaborations and creative connections, as did previous contributions to the executive of Langara’s Professional Photo‑Imaging Program. Each role extends the ongoing conversation between art, education, and the communities that sustain them.

Now living between Galiano Island and Fort Langley, I balance my art practice with teaching, focusing on work that feels necessary—work that matters to me.
